A LIFE-SAVING IDENTIFICATION CAP – ANY SECOND COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING
The Kestelman Identification Cap, named in memory of Yuval Kestelman, is a tactical identification cap featuring an automatic opening mechanism that allows it to be deployed and worn with one hand in under one second. The cap is made from an ultra-thin yet highly durable fabric for maximum carry comfort and long-term operational durability. It also features a personal size adjustment mechanism, and its design was carefully developed to provide a professional and representative appearance in any situation.
Conventional identification caps currently available are not suited for terror incidents that unfold within seconds, as they cannot be worn immediately after drawing a firearm. Deploying them typically requires the use of both hands, making the process cumbersome and forcing the user to break visual contact with the scene while losing valuable response time.
The tragic shooting of Yuval Kestelman highlighted the problem and the urgent need for a solution that could help prevent incidents of misidentification. Yuval acted courageously and flawlessly, preventing a large-scale massacre of civilians, yet was ultimately mistaken for a terrorist. This incident, together with the growing number of civilian firearm license applications, motivated us to begin developing the Kestelman Cap.
The product is available through authorized retailers and approved security organizations.

In memory of Yuval Kestelman

Yuval Kestelman was born in Haifa on December 1, 1985. During his childhood, he moved to Kiryat Tivon, where he attended elementary school. In high school, he studied at the Police Boarding School in Ma’alot and later enlisted in the Border Police, serving in the Jerusalem area. After completing his mandatory service, he continued his career in the Israel Police, serving in the patrol unit in Haifa.
As a child, Yuval was curious and slightly mischievous. His smile and golden curls captured the hearts of everyone around him. One day, while still a teenager on his way to the boarding school, a terrorist attack occurred at the Nahariya train station. Wearing his uniform, Yuval immediately stepped in to assist the security forces operating at the scene, an act for which he received a certificate of appreciation from the police commander. Even then, before holding any official role, he instinctively chose to help without fear of danger.
From the day he enlisted until the tragic day of his death, Yuval dedicated his life to public service and did everything he could to make the world a better and more ethical place. Throughout every stage of his career, in the Border Police, the Israel Police, the Consumer Protection Authority, and the Civil Service Commission, he earned the admiration and respect of those around him thanks to his kindness, professionalism, and deep sensitivity toward others.
Through hard work and determination, Yuval achieved remarkable accomplishments. He earned three academic degrees and became a certified attorney, achievements that filled both him and his family with immense pride.
At the height of his success, Yuval’s life was tragically cut short in an unimaginable way. On his 38th birthday, he neutralized a terrorist during an attack in Jerusalem, but was mistakenly shot by an Israeli civilian despite doing everything in his power to prevent such an outcome.
The courage, heroism, and civic bravery Yuval demonstrated will forever be remembered and engraved in the history of the State of Israel.
We will always remember you in our hearts, with love and pride.
